According to multiple Thai media reports, on July 3rd, Chusa, Minister of the Prime Minister's Office and Legal Advisor to the Prime Minister, stated that the government is considering withdrawing the draft of the "Casino Establishment Act for Entertainment Complex" originally scheduled to be submitted to parliament for review on July 9th. The main reasons for the withdrawal of the case include the recent personnel restructuring of the cabinet and the need for further consultations on the issue within the government.

Chusa pointed out that according to the agenda of next week's parliamentary meeting, the top priority for deliberation is the national referendum bill, followed by the highly anticipated amnesty bill. When asked if the amnesty bill would exclude those involved in the crime of offending the monarch, Chusa responded that negotiations are still ongoing within the ruling coalition and a unified position has not yet been reached.

Regarding the casino bill, he admitted that the government is likely to choose to postpone submission.even withdraw the draft. According to the normal procedure of Congress, if no member raises objections, the draft can be directly withdrawn; But if there are opposing voices, they still need to go through the parliamentary voting process.

Chusa also added that considering several new ministers are about to.the cabinet, the government hopes to reach a consensus on the casino issue internally before moving forward with the next steps.

At the same time, an internal government source also revealed that the "Entertainment Complex Casino Bill" was originally scheduled to be submitted on July 9th, but has been temporarily shelved for further internal negotiations.

The original plan of the bill was to allow the establishment of legal casinos in designated entertainment complexes as part of attracting investment and boosting the economy.

However, due to significant social divisions, continuous opposition voices, and ongoing disagreements within the ruling coalition on certain provisions, the process of legalizing casinos may once again be delayed.
